Dashon Goldson fined $30K

TAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Dashon Goldson was fined $30,000 by the NFL, the league office announced Friday.

Goldson was reprimanded for "unnecessarily striking a defenseless player in the head and neck area" during the second quarter of last Sunday's 18-17 loss to the New York Jets. Goldson was called for a personal foul for his hit on New York tight end Jeff Cumberland.
