Oklahoma State junior running back Joseph Randle says he will forgo his final year of eligibility and enter the NFL draft, a school official confirmed on Thursday.

The news was earlier reported by The Oklahoman.

Randle paced Oklahoma State in rushing in each of the past two seasons, leading the Big 12 in 2012 with 1,417 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was named to the All-Big 12 team for his efforts.

ESPN NFL draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. ranks Randle as the No. 5 junior running back in college football.

The Cowboys will likely make up for Randle's departure with senior Jeremy Smith and junior Desmond Roland, who combined for 672 yards and 12 touchdowns. Smith had 646 rushing yards in 2011.
