Laquon Treadwell to enter draft

Ole Miss receiver Laquon Treadwell announced Monday that he will enter the 2016 NFL draft, bypassing his senior season with the Rebels.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound junior is ranked No. 1 at his position in the 2016 draft class, according to ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr.

Treadwell led the SEC in receiving yards (1,153) and receiving touchdowns (11) this season and was third in receptions (82). He did so coming off a 2014 season that was ended prematurely by a broken leg and dislocated ankle.

"It's always been a dream of mine to play in the NFL, and I can't thank my teammates, coaches and our great fans enough for their unbelievable support since the first day I stepped foot on campus," Treadwell said Monday in a statement. "No matter how far life may take us, I will always be an Ole Miss Rebel."

Treadwell leaves Ole Miss holding a dozen school records, including most career receptions (202). The 2015 Biletnikoff Award finalist and first-team All-SEC choice is currently projected to be a first-round pick in the draft.
