I spoke with David Quessenberry a few weeks ago and he was optimistic, about 15 months from when his cancer entered remission. He had gained back a lot of the weight he lost during his treatments and was practicing with the team. We'll hear from Bill O'Brien after today's OTA session for more on Quessenberry's situation and why the Texans feel he won't play this season.

On the last day of May, 20 of the 31 first-round draft picks are under contract. Packers' Kenny Clark among the 11 unsigned. Would expect his deal to be done in mid-June when he returns from UCLA.

The Texans waived offensive lineman David Quessenberry today, but are hoping to have him back in some capacity if he clears waivers. One option is the non-football injury list upon which Quessenberry could not be placed unless he was waived first. It's possible he returns in a role other than as a player.

The Jets' invisible wide receivers -- Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall -- are back at practice today. They skipped the opening week in what appeared to be a show of solidarity for the unsigned Ryan Fitzpatrick. Unfortunately, today's practice is closed to the media. We'll have to wait until tomorrow to get their take.

Panthers wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin is moving well. You wouldn't know he had ACL surgery last summer by what he is doing today.
