Darren McFadden looked much improved Saturday, rushing for 37 yards on four carries. What does that mean for his standing on the Cowboys' RB depth chart?

Cornerback Charles James, whose socks have become famous on Hard Knocks, doesn't care that his 73-yard touchdown run got called back due to a hold. James still told reporters in the post-game locker room it was the best moment of his life. "My teammates running on the field, that s----'s incredible, dude," he said. He's also going to keep the ball and try to get it decked out like a game ball.

No negative conspiracy theory when it comes to why Jarryd Hayne had so relatively few touches last night for the 49ers. "I've seen what I need to see," coach Jim Tomsula said on a conference call Sunday afternoon. "I think it's been a great evaluation on him." Tomsula said he simply wanted to see others in the return game, guys like Bruce Ellington, coming back from a hamstring injury, and undrafted rookie DeAndrew White, let alone veteran Reggie Bush.

Chris Johnson out vs. Oakland

The Cardinals RB is not going to play tonight vs. the Raiders. A source told ESPN's Josina Anderson Johnson "is still having problems with his hamstring. Getting better but not ready to make full speed cuts." Johnson was hurt on the last play of practice on Aug. 20.

Ahmad Brooks, facing misdemeanor sexual battery charges and sent home from Colorado by the 49ers last week, will not practice with the team this week, coach Jim Tomsula said in a conference call on Sunday. "That's day to day," Tomsula said. "I have not been updated on that at all so it's exactly where it is." Meaning, Brooks will remain away from the team for the foreseeable future.
