Redskins rookie receiver Josh Doctson has been doing rehab work off to the side as teammates practice. Doctson is dealing with a sore Achilles, which kept him out of all spring practices and the early part of camp. "It's a sensitive issue for him," Redskins coach Jay Gruden said. "He feels good. He's walking around without a boot. We'll gradually push him to see how he responds. That's the biggest issue we have to deal with. Hopefully the tendinitis doesn't re-occur."

There's a reason the Redskins use the tight ends a lot. One biggie is the presence of Jordan Reed. But it also helps having talented wideouts on the outside in Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson. "When you have good options on the outside it opens up things in the middle," Redskins coach Jay Gruden said. "We have good versatility and good weapons and the tight ends can work good matchups. They're usually matched up on a linebacker or safeties and if you're an athletic tight end, who can get in and out of breaks and if they can run it can be a nightmare."
