Cowboys say Campo's surgery went well

Associated Press

DALLAS -- Dallas Cowboys coach Dave Campo underwent surgery Tuesday to replace his left hip.

Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalrymple said Campo's surgery took about 1 hour, 20 minutes, and the coach was doing fine. He is expected to remain in the hospital for a few days then will be confined to his home for two weeks or more.

Campo had said earlier that he had no cartilage left in his hip. He believes the damage was caused by an old football injury.
