Lineman will undergo ankle surgery Wednesday

CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Tony Williams broke his left ankle on Monday Night Football on a low block by Denver's George Foster late in the first quarter.

Williams will miss the remainder of the season. He will undergo surgery Wednesday, ABC's Michelle Tafoya reported during the broadcast.

Williams had changed direction to chase scrambling quarterback
Jake Plummer when Foster dived at his lower leg. Williams, part of
the Bengals' defensive line rotation, didn't attempt to get up.

Foster went over to Williams as he sat on the cart that would
take him from the field, said a few words and gave him a pat. Tests
found that he broke and dislocated the ankle, ending his season.

The Bengals have been hit hard by injuries this season, with 10 players already on injured reserve.
