Indianapolis Colts: The Colts on Monday re-signed veteran linebacker and unrestricted free agent Rob Morris. He had 48 tackles during the 2006 regular season, followed by 21 tackles, including 17 solo tackles, during the Colts' four playoff
Team president Bill Polian said keeping Morris was one of the
team's top priorities and that he expects the converted middle
linebacker to continue to start on the strong side, where he
excelled in the playoffs. Terms of the contract were not
Arizona Cardinals: Former Dallas Cowboys center Al Johnson agreed to
a four-year contract with the Cardinals on Monday, the
team's first free-agent acquisition of the year. Terms of the contract weren't disclosed.
Johnson said Sunday that he had an offer on the table from the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers but liked what he heard from new Arizona coach
Ken Whisenhunt and offensive line coach Russ Grimm.
Lehr started 26 games at left guard in two years with the
Falcons. He served a four-game suspension this past season for a
violation of the NFL's steroids policy.
Dallas Cowboys: Kicker Martin Gramatica agreed to a two-year deal with the Cowboys on Monday. Financial details were not available. Gramatica made six of eight field-goal attempts last season and all 23 extra-point attempts.
Smith, 29, played last season for the St. Louis Rams. He has 46 carries for 210 yards in his career, which includes three seasons
with Detroit and three more in San Francisco.
Detroit Lions: The Lions re-signed defensive
end Corey Smith to a one-year contract on Monday. Smith, who was an unrestricted free agent, had 10 tackles and two sacks in Detroit last season. He started in one of eight games after signing with the Lions in November.
Alexander, who also returns kicks, missed all but one game last
season after a season-ending knee injury in Houston's opener.
Kalu, a 10-year veteran, appeared in 15 games and had 21 tackles
and two sacks. Salaam played 15 games, starting 14 last year.
Miami Dolphins: Miami signed tight end David Martin to a three-year contract.
Martin had 87 receptions for 766 yards and nine touchdowns in six
seasons with Green Bay. He caught 21 passes last season and scored
a touchdown against Miami.
Heller played in all 16 regular-season games last year for
Seattle, used mostly as a blocker when multiple tight ends were
used. Parry played in eight games, mostly on special teams, but
suffered a foot injury and was placed on injured reserve Nov. 29.
St. Louis Rams: The Rams on Monday signed free agent punter B.J. Sander to a contract. Terms weren't immediately available. Sander, who was out of football last season, was a third-round draft pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2004, but did not play that season.
Carter is fourth among active players with 97.5 career sacks and
has not missed a game in 12 seasons with the Titans, Rams and
Dolphins, who released him last week after he was unable to reach
an agreement on a restructured contract.
In 2005 he averaged 39.2 yards on 64 punts in 14 games with the Packers, missing the final two games of the season with a knee injury.
Tennessee Titans: The Titans agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent QB Kerry Collins. The 12-year veteran started three games for the Titans last season, throwing for 549 yards and one touchdown before handing over the reigns to rookie Vince Young.
