Giants' Jacobs to return Sunday; Redskins RB Portis also to play

Both the New York Giants and Washington Redskins will have their top rushers in their backfields for Sunday's NFC East showdown.

Giants running back Brandon Jacobs will play Sunday after missing last week's game with an injured knee, the fourth-year veteran told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio.

And Redskins coach Jim Zorn told Paolantonio that Clinton Portis, the NFL's leading rusher, would play Sunday.

Jacobs, who practiced Thursday and Friday, was injured two weeks ago in a win over the Baltimore Ravens.

He also practiced last week before being ruled out for a 37-29 victory against the Arizona Cardinals.

Portis has missed practice throughout the past couple of weeks with a sore knee but has yet to miss a game this season.

He leads the league with 1,206 yards on the ground.
