Redskins punter Smith hurts groin

LANDOVER, Md. -- Washington Redskins punter Hunter Smith left Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a groin injury, forcing placekicker Shaun Suisham into punting duties.

Smith punted once for 47 yards in the first quarter before his injury was announced.

Suisham made Washington's second punt, a 31-yarder that gave the Buccaneers good field position.

Smith was acquired as a free agent in the offseason after spending 10 years with the Indianapolis Colts.
