Expect a low-scoring affairThe Lions will be seething after having a road victory snatched out of their hands by a controversial instant replay reversal. Joey Harrington has another tough defense to battle and will look to get his young receiving corps on track against an experienced secondary led by FS Ed Reed.
Baltimore was nearly impossible to run on last week against the Jets, and defensive coordinator Rex Ryan's blitzing made throwing the ball a difficult task as well. The Ravens will continue to have a conservative game plan on offense to take the pressure off QB Anthony Wright, though they face another stout run defense that last week shut down the Bucs' Cadillac Williams. Look for the Ravens to continue to get the ball to Derrick Mason in critical situations. Look for some great matchups on the perimeter in the passing game with Ravens DCs Chris McAlister and Samari Rolle vs. Lions WRs Roy Williams and Mike Williams. Both teams will rely on their defenses until their offenses can get on track. Lions defensive coordinator Dick Jauron will use a similar game plan to the one he used to take away the Bucs' running game. Creating good field position through special teams will be critical to the outcome of this game. | ||

Baltimore (1-2) at Detroit (1-2), Sunday 1:00 pm EDT
DETROIT (Ticker) -- The Baltimore Ravens hope to end their season at Ford Field. But they look like anything but a Super Bowl team.
On Sunday, the Ravens will go to the site of Super Bowl XL when they face the Detroit Lions in an interconference game.
But Baltimore has managed just one touchdown in each of its first three games. That's not a recipe for success, even with a defense that features Pro Bowlers Ray Lewis, Ed Reed and Chris McAlister.
Joey Harrington is not looking forward to facing that defense. The third overall pick in the 2002 draft, Harrington was intercepted five times in the Lions' 38-6 loss at Chicago in Week Two and threw for just 137 yards in a 17-13 loss at Tampa Bay last week.
The Ravens limited the New York Jets, who were forced to start third-string quarterback Brooks Bollinger, to eight first downs and 152 total yards in a 13-3 win last week.
It was the first win of the season for Baltimore, which was outscored, 49-17, in its first two games.
Jamal Lewis rushed for a season-high 81 yards on 29 carries against the Jets after being held to 57 yards on 26 carries in Baltimore's first two games.
Anthony Wright will start his third straight game for the injured Kyle Boller, who is sidelined with a foot injury. Ravens coach Brian Billick has played it conservatively with Wright, who was 15-of-21 for 144 yards in the win over the Jets.
Baltimore held NFL reigning rushing champion Curtis Martin to 30 yards on 13 carries. Kevin Jones rushed for 1,133 yards as a rookie for the Lions last season, but will not find many running lanes against Baltimore.
It will be up to Harrington to make some plays and he likely will not have wide receiver Charles Rogers, who reportedly will be suspended four games by the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
The second overall pick in the 2003 draft, Rogers suffered a broken right collarbone in each of his first two seasons and played in just six games. This season, Rogers had just five catches in three games.
Rogers' injuries concerned the Lions enough to draft a receiver - Mike Williams of Southern California - in the first round for the third straight year last April. In 2004, the Lions selected Texas receiver Roy Williams with their first pick.
Both will start on Sunday. Roy Williams had three catches for 54 yards and Mike Williams added three for 22 in last week's loss at Tampa Bay. Veteran Kevin Johnson serves as the third receiver in the absence of Rogers.
Matchup to watch: Ravens tight end Todd Heap faces Lions strong safety Kenoy Kennedy, who had nine tackles last week.
Series: Baltimore leads, 1-0, winning 19-10 on December 27, 1998. It turned out to be the last game of Hall of Famer Barry Sanders' career for Detroit. Sanders was held to 41 yards on 19 carries.
Next week: Baltimore hosts Cleveland, October 16 Detroit hosts Carolina, October 16.
