As far as the Packers and their fans were concerned, the controversy over their Sept. 24, 2012, game in Seattle shouldn't have been about Golden Tate's touchdown catch that he brought down with defensive back M.D. Jennings. The Packers believe, and the league ultimately agreed, that Tate should have been called for offensive pass interference for shoving Sam Shields. Instead, Tate was awarded the game-winning TD while one replacement ref signaled TD and one signaled to stop the clock. The controversy was credited with helping end the lockout of officials.
