Ben Roethlisberger still limited by ankle
PITTSBURGH -- Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger practiced Thursday but remains bothered by a sprained left ankle heading into Sunday's wild card game at Denver.
Offensive coordinator Bruce Arians said Roethlisberger was "moving around OK, not as good as he was." Roethlisberger originally sprained the ankle in a win over Cleveland on Dec. 8 then aggravated the injury in the second half of a win over the Browns last weekend.
The injury limits Roethlisberger's mobility but Arians said there are no plans to consider putting backup Charlie Batch into the lineup.
Center Maurkice Pouncey did not practice after his sprained left ankle developed additional soreness. Arians said he's concerned Pouncey may not be able to play.
Meanwhile, sources told ESPN's Josina Anderson that safety Ryan Clark, who will not play this week due to a pre-existing health condition, had his $40,000 fine for a hit on Ravens tight end Ed Dickson in November reduced to $20,000 by the league.
Information from The Associated Press contributed to this report.
