Week:

A top-10 team here in each of the past three weeks, Carolina cemented its contender status with a dramatic victory over defending NFC champion Seattle.

Is it time to place Cam Newton & Co. among the truly elite? ESPN's Power Panel remains somewhat hesitant, as the Panthers rose just one spot to No. 6 -- the only unbeaten team not in our top five.

New England remained No. 1, followed by Green Bay and Denver. Arizona, despite losing at Pittsburgh, actually gained two spots to No. 4. Cincinnati is No. 5 for the third straight week.

Are the unbeatens safe in Week 7? Well, three of the five have byes, but the Patriots have what could be a tough test against the 4-1 Jets (No. 8). The Panthers will get a national audience -- Sunday night against the Eagles (No. 9) -- as they aim to make another strong impression.
