Power Rankings: Colts clearly No. 1

Week:

ESPN.com's Power Rankings
This week's rankings were determined by a poll of ESPN.com's NFL staff: writers John Clayton, Len Pasquarelli, Michael Smith, NFL Insider Jeremy Green, Scouts Inc., and ESPN.com NFL editors Peter Lawrence-Riddell and James C. Black.

Obviously there was no change at the top. Through six weeks, the Colts have clearly established themselves as the NFL's elite. The Broncos at No. 2 raised some eyebrows last week, but not this week. Denver checked in solidly at No. 2, followed by the Bengals at No. 3.

One interesting note: Five of the teams in this week's top 10 weren't in our preseason top 10. The Broncos (No. 11 to No. 2), Bengals (No. 18 to No. 3), Buccaneers (No. 28 to No. 5), Cowboys (No. 19 to No. 7), and Jaguars (No. 16 to No. 10) all started outside the top 10. Not sure what that means other than the fact that doing this before the season starts is obviously not an exact science.

At the other end of the rankings, the Texans remained winless and at the bottom. Meanwhile, the Vikings dropped to No. 30 (from No. 4 in the preseason).
