Only three teams have started three straight seasons at least 6-0. By improving to 7-0 after Sunday's win vs. the Panthers, the Colts only trail the 1929-31 Packers for the best opening three seasons in a row.

The Panthers also had an 18-play touchdown drive against Atlanta in 1995, the team's inaugural season. ... Panthers DT Kris Jenkins was called for a 15-yard penalty for driving Manning into the turf in the third quarter.
The formula for beating the Colts has been set: Limit Peyton Manning's possessions and control the clock with your own offense. The Panthers did that in the first half but Manning and Co. got back on track in the second with their up-tempo offense and a good mixture of run and pass. Without WR Marvin Harrison in the lineup, Indy relied mainly on its 12 (1 RB, 2TE) personnel grouping, which allowed the Colts to spread the field and use TE Dallas Clark all over the formation and got WR Reggie Wayne in some key individual mismatches that Indianapolis exploited on the back end. Manning did a great job of moving around in the pocket to avoid a relentless Carolina pass rush, keeping his eyes downfield and finding windows. This was another very impressive win for the Colts as they head into next week's showdown against the Patriots.
