Good For The Goose, Not The Gander
Andre Johnson finished with nine catches for 140 yards and two TDs Monday night. It's the fifth time he's hit all those levels in the same game, but it hasn't always equaled success for the Texans.

Research Notes
After struggling in shotgun formations through his first 12 games, Joe Joe Flacco found his groove early against the Texans, connecting with Derrick Mason on a pair of first-half scores. Flacco completed more than 70 percent of his attempts out of shotgun Monday, including seven of his last eight to end the game. For Houston, it was more of the same on Monday night. The Texans entered Week 14 having surrendered 13 touchdown passes out of the shotgun in 2010, tied for most in the NFL. |
Andre Johnson was targeted twice on the Texans' opening drive. But after that, the Texans went 23 plays before going his way again, going to him three times on the final drive of the first half (punctuated by Johnson's 46-yard Rec TD). The Texans included Johnson more frequently in the second half, and he produced, catching seven passes (on nine targets) for 78 yards and the late TD that helped the Texans force overtime. |

Teammates called Matt Schaub "superhuman" after Monday's loss. But he made one mistake that buried the Texans again, ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky writes.
