Tony Gonzalez caught 13-of-14 targets for 123 yards and a touchdown on Sunday against the Redskins, his highest target total in a game since Week 10 of 2008 (14 targets against Chargers) and most ever from Matt Ryan. Gonzalez's touchdown was his 24th catch on an end-zone target since the start of 2008, most of any tight end over that span. Overall, Ryan was 12-of-12 for 102 yards and a touchdown targeting Gonzalez on throws fewer than 15 yards downfield. | ||||||||||||||||||
The Redskins defense did a good job containing the Falcons passing game inside the numbers on Sunday, but the edges of the field belonged to Matt Ryan. Ryan connected on 19-of-25 attempts outside the numbers for 184 yards and both of his touchdowns, an area that Ryan was not as prolific in through his first four games.
