Research Notes
Dez Bryant finished with eight catches for 145 yards and two touchdowns, marking his third straight game with a touchdown catch. Tony Romo's 85-yard TD pass to Dez Bryant in the third quarter was not only the longest play of both their careers but was Dallas' longest pass play since Jan. 2, 2000, when Troy Aikman connected with Jason Tucker for a 90-yard touchdown. Bryant has come alive for the Cowboys in the last three games. [+]Cowboys Passing Targeting Dez Bryant, 2012 Season

Tony Romo tied a career high with 62 pass attempts on Thursday, equaling his total in a 29-24 Week 8 loss to the Giants. The Cowboys dropped back to pass on 64-of-73 plays from scrimmage (87.7 percent) excluding spikes and kneel downs, the second-highest percentage of any team in the Total QBR era (start of 2008). The Cowboys are 4-1 in the five games they've reached 20 designed rushes this season (1-5 when rushing less than 20 times). Seven of Dallas' first 20 plays were rushes, but after the Cowboys fell behind 14-3, 51 of the final 53 plays from scrimmage were dropbacks. | ||||||||||||||||||
