Colts long snapper Matt Overton on Zurlon Tipton, who died after he accidentally shot himself Tuesday: "Zurlon was a dude you rooted for. An undrafted, talented, hard-working player who always seemed to have a smile on his face. His personality was contagious. In 2014 he finally got promoted to the active roster and he was a key contributor on the 4th Down Army (special teams) and a tough back up running back. He was the hammer when on the field. He will always be our brother, he is family. Today is a tough day for many. Prayers go out to his family during this difficult time."

Mike Reiss ESPN New England Patriots reporter

Patriots coach Bill Belichick on the passing of Buddy Ryan: "Today is a sad day in football due to the passing of Buddy Ryan. It was always very challenging to compete against Coach Ryan, who was father to a great football family that carries on his coaching and defensive tradition. My condolences are with the Ryan family." Rob Ryan, one of Buddy Ryan's three sons, served as an assistant on Belichick's Patriots staff from 2000-2003.
