Gregory seeks treatment after violation

Cowboys DE Randy Gregory has entered an undisclosed treatment facility and faces a longer ban from play after violating the NFL's drug-abuse policy.

The Dolphins are deep at other areas, but not at cornerback. That is one position where Miami can't afford any bad breaks. There's no proven depth behind No. 1 CB Byron Maxwell. But Xavien Howard showed plenty of promise before his injury.

The good news with Dolphins rookie CB Xavien Howard's knee injury/scope is he's expected back for the regular season. However, the second-round pick will miss most (or all) of training camp, which was important for Howard's development.

Former Bears, Bucs coach Lovie Smith on whether Devin Hester is a Hall of Famer: "Yes. Absolutely. When you are the best to ever play that position in the NFL, you should end up in the Hall of Fame. He changed the way the game was played." Hester, 33, was released by the Falcons Tuesday, and his immediate plans remain unclear.

Jake Long has to pass a physical before the Ravens officially sign him. He's dealt with multiple knee injuries over his career, but he declared himself healthy last month in an interview with ESPN.
