The Lions signed TE Ben McCord on Tuesday. He is a UDFA from Central Michigan. The Lions need bodies at tight end with Brandon Pettigrew (knee) out for the spring, Tim Wright (torn ACL) out for the season and Eric Ebron missing last week's open-to-the-media OTA with an undisclosed injury.

The Colts hope Andrew Luck will take every meaningful snap next season after he missed nine games due to injury last season. But they're impressed with what they've seen out of new backup quarterback Scott Tolzien so far. Coach Chuck Pagano said Tolzien has great mobility and he also praised the quarterback's arm and quick release. Tolzien replaces 40-year-old Matt Hasselbeck as Luck's backup. Hasselbeck is now an ESPN analyst.

Amazon Video's eight-part series on the Arizona Cardinals, "All or Nothing," will be released on July 1. The red-carpet premiere in Los Angeles is on June 9.

The Lions announced Tim Wright, who waived last week, was placed on injured reserve with the club with a torn ACL. Wright was the team's No. 3 TE last year and re-signed with the club in the offseason. Detroit traded for Wright during training camp last year.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, a Cleveland native, said he attended two Cavaliers home games during the recent Eastern Conference finals against Toronto. Asked about the Cavs' chances of winning the NBA title, Kelce said, "As a Cleveland fan, you can't put too much hope in that." Told he sounded like a true Cleveland fan, Kelce said, "I've got this thing down pat."
