Rams QB Case Keenum (concussion) participated in a limited portion of Wednesdays practice. Coach Jeff Fisher said Keenum split reps with the first-team offense with Nick Foles during the practice. Keenum is still in the concussion protocol but Rams are hopeful hell clear it and be able to play this week.

Saints QB Matt Flynn, who won a national championship under Les Miles at LSU, said he thinks it would be a mistake to fire him. Just be careful what youre asking for. Flynn said he understands the frustration of unmet expectations but said Miles is a reason for those high expectations. And he said talk that Miles won with Nick Sabans players is quite a bit of ignorance. ... Its been 11 years since (Saban) has been there, and people are still talking about him. So I mean, get over it.

The Rams huddled in prayer for WR Stedman Bailey before today's practice. Rams coach Jeff Fisher said Bailey is out of surgery and resting in the ICU. Surgery lasted between four and six hours, according to Fisher.

Jets center Nick Mangold, who hopes to take snaps tomorrow in practice to test his right hand laceration, was naturally saddened to see Ryan Fitzpatrick drastically trim his own beard. "I know it is the hot button issue for the day," Mangold deadpanned. "Its difficult to see a good beard go down. But obviously he is a fighter. He will get back up and continue to work on his growth and just keep getting better every day... (Was it) a panic move? No. No. No. Just his birthday and I assume he did it for the kids because we all know it is all about the kids."
