But he said that just adds to the chip in his shoulder. Also said he's taken time to try and "learn the business," study offenses and try to figure out why he had most of his success early in his career with Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride.

"He's utilized his quick feet and burst through the hole," Sirmans said. "Everything I remember back when I was looking at him coming out, I was able to see those things."

Chargers announce they have signed offensive lineman Marcel Jones and waived center Trevor Robinson, who started 13 games for San Diego last season. Robinson had been dealing with a shoulder issue and did not practice during offseason work for the Chargers.
