Said veteran DE Chris Long, who is in his first year with the Patriots after eight with the Rams: "It's awesome. As if just being in pads for the first day isn't exciting enough, you come out and these fans give you a real boost. It just speaks to the passion that these folks have. We're warming up in the hot tub and we can see the fans coming in on ESPN or NFL Network; they beat us out on the field. It's pretty cool what they have going here."

Paul Kuharsky ESPN Staff Writer

As the Titans start training camp practices today, one guy they definitely need to stay healthy is defensive end Ropati Pitoitua. He's due a $3 million base salary this year plus $15,625 per game active. It's hard to imagine a guy who played in just five games last year sticking. The Titans have Jurrell Casey and DaQuan Jones as starters at the position, with recent draft picks Angelo Blackson and Austin Johnson in place. If Pitoitua suffers an injury that would outlast the preseason, the Titans would have to eat some money to cut him.

Jamison Hensley ESPN Staff Writer

Ravens DT Timmy Jernigan suffered a minor rib area strain in Saturday's practice. Not considered serious.

Jordan Raanan ESPN Staff Writer
