Flacco reads classic book to kids

There's no doubt about it, "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" is an elite children's book. Here to read it to Baltimore City elementary school students ... is Ravens QB Joe Flacco. Watch it

Cutler still not 100%, says he'll 'make do'

Bears QB Jay Culter said: "I feel better, I do. … But it is what it is, and we have a lot of guys banged up out here. I'll just make do." Cutler missed two weeks with a hamstring injury before returning in Sunday's win over the Raiders.

Matthew Berry's Love/Hate Week 5

Berry can't get enough of the rookie who ran all over the Cardinals a week ago. With the Packers on the docket, who allow the third-most yards before contact and yards per rush, Todd Gurley could go off on Sunday. Love/Hate Week 5

Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch (hamstring) once again did not practice Thursday. Pete Carroll made it sound like he could be a gametime decision. The Seahawks don't have a rushing touchdown on the season, and the Bengals are the only team that hasn't allowed one.

Rockets star Dwight Howard here pregame for the Texans vs Colts.

Arian Foster will help Ryan Mallett

ESPN’s Bob Holtzman reports that Texans QB Ryan Mallett has been practicing short passes all week and will be relying on RB Arian Foster in the matchup against the Colts.

Matthew Berry's Love/Hate Week 5

Eli Manning has been on a hot streak, tossing 7 TDs in his last 3 games. And with the 49ers coming to town, Berry believes it's a recipe for a handful of big plays vs. a team that has allowed the most 20-plus-yard plays this year. Love/Hate Week 5

Saints CB Keenan Lewis said the Saints put a bullseye on their buses when they drive into games at Philadelphia for the eggs that fans throw at them. "I'll be kind of excited. I like to sit by the bullseye and see who's got the best aim out there," Lewis said. "They kinda missed last time (in the 2013-14 playoffs). So hopefully they worked on their aim during their training camp as well."

What can Browns do for you? Lose?

That's as far as ESPN's Football Power Index is concerned. San Francisco, D.C., Chicago and St. Louis aren't faring much better as all five teams are 3-to-1 underdogs or worse.

Starting left tackle King Dunlap (concussion), left guard Orlando Franklin (ankle), slot receiver Stevie Williams (hamstring) and returner Jacoby Jones (ankle) did not practice on Thursday for Chargers. Right guard D.J. Fluker (ankle), center Chris Watt (groin), cornerback Jason Verrett (foot) and safety Jahleel Addae (ankle) were limited.

Arian Foster will get the ball as much as he can take tonight against the Colts with Alfred Blue taking the rest. I don't expect Foster on a pitch count this week after the Texans used him sparingly on Sunday against the Falcons. They will, however, listen to his own thoughts on how much he can handle. Foster knows his body better than anyone else.

Saints starting LT Terron Armstead (knee) and starting LG Tim Lelito (back) both missed practice Thursday. RG Jahri Evans (knee) was limited. We should get a better feel on Friday if any of them have a chance to play this week at Philadelphia. Also on the Saints' injury report: P Thomas Morstead DNP; S Jairus Byrd, CB Keenan Lewis limited.

Odds are coming up Houston

The crowds in Las Vegas are feeling Houston as the line between Indianapolis and Houston has shifted 5 points in the past day. Matt Hasselbeck was announced as the Indy starter at QB earlier today as they get set in Houston for an 8:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

ESPNW: Hardy news conference a 'disaster'

Dallas DE Greg Hardy told reporters Wednesday he planned to come out "guns blazing" and said of Tom Brady's wife, Gisele Bundchen, "Have you seen [her]? I hope she comes to the game." The NFL has made progress, but it still has a lot it needs to get right, writes Jane McManus. Will it ever change?

Saints K Zach Hocker said he understands it's part of the business for Saints to try out other kickers after his 30-yd FG miss. "I was one of those guys last year that when guys struggled I was bouncing around the country doing the exact same thing." But he was thankful Saints had the faith to stick with him. ... Hocker admitted "last week was tough" but said the field goal group bounced back, had great week of practice and still has "tons of confidence."

Ravens WR Steve Smith, who has micro fractures in his back, said, "I'm feeling good today" as he walked to a meeting. Smith said he would talk to reporters Friday. He didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday.
