Niners add parking at new stadium
The San Francisco 49ers are adding 10,000 more parking spaces at Levi's Stadium, the team announced Wednesday.
Therefore, the Niners will be able to host Monday and Thursday night games in 2014. It was originally expected there would be no weeknight home games in the first season at the new Santa Clara stadium.
The San Jose Mercury News reported the team is going to have 31,500 parking spots within walking distance of the 69,000 state-of-the-art stadium. The new stadium also is conveniently located for several public transportation options.
There was originally concern there wouldn't be enough parking spaces to accommodate fans and workers in nearby business offices during weeknight games. But the new parking spaces should make that issue moot.
