Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Jason Babin elected to void the final two years of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent.

Babin, 33, was scheduled to make $6.175 million in each of the final two years of his contract.

A source told ESPN's John Clayton that Babin remains in touch with the Jaguars and is interested in re-signing with them.

The Jaguars are now $60.7 million under the salary cap for the 2014 season.

Babin recorded 7.5 sacks last season. The two-time Pro Bowler has 62.5 sacks in parts of 10 seasons with the Jaguars, Eagles, Titans, Seahawks, Chiefs and Texans.
