Saints owner Tom Benson has returned home to New Orleans for the remainder of training camp, team spokesman Greg Bensel said Wednesday.
Bensel said Benson, who also owns the New Orleans Pelicans, is doing well and returned to work at his office at the team's practice facility in Metairie, Louisiana, on Wednesday.
Benson, 87, had twice been taken to the hospital during camp as a precautionary measure after experiencing dehydration and/or breathing troubles because of the altitude at the team's training site in the Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia.
Both times Benson checked out OK and was released.
Benson does not plan to travel to the Saints' preseason opener in St. Louis on Friday night. The team will return home permanently next week before hosting the Titans in Week 2 of the preseason on Aug. 15.
