Panthers' Thomas Davis works out with 'hard brace' on broken arm

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis said he practiced Monday with what he termed a "hard brace" rather than a cast on his broken right arm and thought he might play in Super Bowl 50 against the Denver Broncos on Sunday while wearing it.

Unless some "new technology" comes about in the next few days.

"Today went pretty well," Davis said during Super Bowl 50 Media Night at the SAP Center. "It was a light [practice] day, but I took every opportunity to hit it on something."

Davis broke his arm in the Panthers' NFC Championship Game victory over the Arizona Cardinals and underwent surgery Jan. 25.

"If there's any way, any chance, any opportunity to play in the Super Bowl," he said, "I'm going to do it."
