ST. LOUIS -- Steven Jackson hurt his right leg while running virtually untouched on a 47-yard touchdown run on the St. Louis Rams' first offensive play of the season.

Quarterback Sam Bradford injured his right index finger when he struck the helmet of an Eagles defender in the fourth quarter. Bradford left a few plays later because he could not grip the ball.

X-rays were negative and coach Steve Spagnuolo said Bradford's injury could be nerve related. A team source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that Bradford experienced numbness in his hand.

The source also said the team will wait to evaluate Bradford on Monday before determining if he'll miss time. For his part, last year's No. 1 overall pick said he'd play in next week's Monday night game at New York against the Giants.

"I don't see any way I'm not going to be on the field, to be honest with you," said Bradford, who attended a news conference with the finger taped.

Jackson, who will undergo an MRI exam Monday, is hopeful the extra day will help him heal.

"It was one of those freak things. I felt a little something there," Jackson said. "I just couldn't be the runner I wanted to be."

Jackson went straight to the locker room after the scoring run on a simple off-tackle handoff. He returned for a 9-yard carry on the first play of the Rams' next possession before limping off for good.

Wide receiver Danny Amendola dislocated his left elbow in the fourth quarter and also was scheduled for an MRI. Offensive tackle Jason Smith, the second overall pick of the 2009 draft, had what the team believed was a high left ankle sprain.

Eagles defensive end Darryl Tapp (chest) and linebacker Akeem Jordan (sprained right shoulder) were to undergo MRIs. Tapp had a sack and forced fumble on Bradford that produced Juqua Parker's 56-yard scoring return in the first quarter.

Jackson rode a stationary bicycle on the sideline for a short time after leaving the game but mostly stood and watched, although the Rams continued to say his return was questionable. Jackson was in uniform for the start of the second half, but remained a spectator.

The Rams signed quality backups Cadillac Williams and Jerious Norwood in free agency, and Williams came in for Jackson. Williams had 91 yards on 19 carries.

Jordan, who was injured in the second quarter, is one of Philadelphia's top special teams players, finishing second on the team with 16 tackles last season.
