Aqib Talib placed on injured reserve

TAMPA, Fla. -- The season is over for Tampa Bay cornerback Aqib Talib.

The Buccaneers placed Talib on injured reserve on Monday afternoon. Talib had been playing with an injured hamstring most of the season, but started 13 of 14 games.

He started Saturday night's loss to Dallas after sitting out a game, but the hamstring got worse after the first defensive series and Talib left the game.
Talib has 42 tackles, two forced fumbles, two interceptions (both returned for touchdowns) and 13 passes defensed on the season.

The Bucs filled Talib's roster spot by signing defensive tackle Jovan Haye.

Without Talib, the Bucs likely will give Elbert Mack and E.J. Biggers more playing time opposite veteran starter Ronde Barber.
