Source: Bucs, Mike Sherman talk again

Former Green Bay Packers coach Mike Sherman is interviewing Wednesday for a second time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' owners, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Sherman is a finalist for the Tampa Bay job that is expected to be filled by the end of the week.

His second interview comes after Oregon coach Chip Kelly passed on an offer from the Buccaneers on Monday. Kelly and the Bucs had been deep in the process of finishing a deal Sunday night.

Sherman, who most recently was coach at Texas A&M, was 57-39 in six seasons with the Packers and won three NFC North titles. He was 25-25 in four seasons at Texas A&M and took two teams to bowl games.

After firing Raheem Morris the day after the regular season ended, Bucs co-chairman Joel Glazer said the team would go through an exhaustive search. Most of the candidates have been older, and that's apparently because the Buccaneers wanted to go in the opposite direction of Morris, who was the league's youngest head coach at 35.

Among the candidates who have or will be interviewed for the position are former NFL coaches Brad Childress and Marty Schottenheimer; current coordinators Rob Chudzinski (Carolina Panthers), Jerry Gray (Tennessee Titans) and Mike Zimmer (Cincinnati Bengals); and Packers quarterbacks coach Tom Clements.
