Source: David Diehl has finger surgery

Biggest Giants Storylines
New York Giants offensive lineman David Diehl underwent surgery to repair a broken finger, a source confirmed to ESPN NewYork.com.
"Well it's good to know that my hand and finger are now fixed. Does anyone need screws?" Diehl tweeted Monday, along with a picture of an X-ray, which shows several screws inserted in the broken finger.
Diehl told the Newark Star-Ledger after winning Super Bowl XLVI that he played most of the season with a broken hand, which never appeared on the injury report.
The 31-year-old started the team's final 10 games at left tackle after starter Will Beatty went down with a season-ending eye injury. Diehl had been playing left tackle his entire career, but moved to left guard to make room for Beatty at the beginning of the season.
Giants general manager Jerry Reese recently said he doesn't know how the offensive line will be configured heading into next season. Starting right tackle Kareem McKenzie is a free agent and may not return. With Beatty coming back and cleared to play, the Giants could move the versatile Diehl to right tackle or keep him at left tackle or left guard. Veteran Kevin Boothe played well at left guard, so the Giants may elect to have him stay there. Boothe can also play multiple positions along the offensive line, though.
Diehl has started all 140 games he's played with the Giants after being selected by the team in the fifth round of the 2003 NFL draft.
