Lions' Jerome Harrison to miss 2012
ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The Detroit Lions placed running back Jerome Harrison, who had surgery last October for a brain tumor, on the reserve/non-football illness list Tuesday.

ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert writes about all things NFC North in his division blog.
By being placed on the list, Harrison is ineligible to play in 2012. The move gave the team the space under its 90-player roster to sign defensive back Sam Proctor and wide receiver Wallace Miles, who were undrafted this year and had tried out for the Lions during last-weekend's rookie minicamp.
Harrison's agent, Mitch Frankel, told the team's website that his client is "progressing" after having the tumor removed.
Harrison's tumor was discovered in a physical exam after the Lions attempted to trade him to the Philadelphia Eagles last season for running back Ronnie Brown.
