Philadelphia Eagles owners Jeffrey and Christina Lurie are getting divorced, the billionaire couple told team employees in a letter obtained by the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Jeffrey, 60, and Christina, 52, have been married 20 years and have owned the Eagles since 1994.

The letter stated that the Luries "would remain close friends" and that their divorce would not affect the ownership or operations of the Eagles.

"We share the same goals for the Eagles that we have always had," the Luries said in the statement, as quoted in the Inquirer. "We want a world championship team, of course, and we want to carry on the dedicated community service that is so much a part of this company's heart and soul.

"We will strive to improve even further and make the Eagles a sports organization of which we are all very proud."

The Eagles have enjoyed a successful period under the Luries' ownership, making 11 postseason appearances and reaching Super Bowl XXXIX.
