Eric Wright won't face DUI charges
Wright was arrested after he was involved in a crash near Staples Center.
"Eric is glad this is behind him and is eager to begin training camp at the end of the month," attorney Jeremy I. Lessem said.
The incident occurred about 12:20 a.m. PT several blocks away from the Staples Center when the Mercedes SLS that Wright was driving rear-ended a pickup truck, said police officer Karen Rayner. The driver of the truck had unspecified injuries.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the 26-year-old Wright told officers he had been drinking earlier in the night at a friend's house. Wright, who wasn't injured, refused to take sobriety tests, authorities said. He was booked for investigation of felony DUI.
Wright, a five-year veteran, signed a five-year, $37.5 million free-agent contract with the Buccaneers this offseason after playing in Detroit last year. He had four interceptions and 16 passes defended in 2011.
Wright had played the four previous seasons with the Cleveland Browns.
He was arrested in March 2004 while attending USC for investigation of rape, but he was never charged because of insufficient evidence. He later transferred to UNLV.
