Michael Vick sees Eagles dynasty
The disaster that was the Eagles' 2011 "Dream Team" isn't scaring Michael Vick from incorporating an even bigger "D" word to describe his team heading into the 2012 season.

Michael Vick is talking Eagles and "dynasty." Really? Dan Graziano wonders, didn't Philadelphia learn last season that big talk is cheap? Blog

In an interview Tuesday with Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, Vick said he believed this current squad can become a dynasty.
"When I look at our football team and what we have on paper, I think about when I was growing up and the great San Francisco 49er teams, the great Green Bay Packer teams, and the great Dallas Cowboy teams, how they just positioned themselves to compete and be one of the best teams out there," Vick said, one season after the Eagles finished a disappointing 8-8.
"I think we have a chance to be that. I think we have a chance to develop a dynasty."
Vick told Comcast SportsNet that he believes his teammates share the same sentiment.
"I think it's just a mindset for my organization on down to the players," he said in the interview. "We know we can do it. We know what we have, that's the great thing about it. We know what we have as a team, as an organization and what better position to be in than to know that you have an opportunity?"

Quarterback Vince Young, who is no longer with the team, infamously dubbed the 2011 Eagles a "Dream Team" after an offseason spending spree that landed star cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, defensive end Jason Babin and defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins, among others.
This offseason, the Eagles concentrated on giving big-money extensions to players already on the roster, such as wide receiver DeSean Jackson, running back LeSean McCoy, and defensive end Trent Cole.
They did add two-time Pro Bowl linebacker DeMeco Ryans in a trade with the Texans, but their free-agent signings weren't as splashy as in 2011.
Vick led the Eagles to a 10-6 record and an NFC East title in 2010, when he was named NFL Comeback Player of the Year. But he had injuries and inconsistent performances in 2011, during which he threw a career-worst 14 interceptions in just 13 games. He told Comcast SportsNet that he's determined to cut down on his turnovers this season.

I think we have a chance to develop a dynasty.
Vick said he believes the Eagles are in a "special place" now. Still, even though he wasn't afraid to talk about a dynasty, he admitted later in the interview that Philadelphia has to make the playoffs first.
"I think just getting to the postseason right now is our focus," he told Comcast SportsNet. "The Super Bowl is going to come if it's meant to happen. Some of the best teams have some of the best luck. Maybe we'll have some of that. I think our focus needs to be one game at a time, just getting into the postseason."
The Eagles open training camp next week. Vick is scheduled to report with the team's other quarterbacks and rookies Sunday.
