Ryan Tannehill, Dolphins agree
Terms of the contract weren't disclosed Saturday. However, the Dolphins made concessions to make the deal more palatable, and the quarterback was unwilling to miss more time to continue negotiating on offset language, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Tannehill missed the first two days of camp while the Dolphins and his agent, Pat Dye Jr., tried to work out a contract. The first quarterback selected in the first round by the Dolphins since they took Dan Marino in 1983, Tannehill is expected to be at practice on Sunday morning.
Tannehill started 19 games at Texas A&M after being switched from wide receiver and his head coach was Mike Sherman, now the offensive coordinator for the Dolphins.
"If he was any other rookie that didn't know the offense, it would be definitely tough on him, but he knows most of the offense," Garrard said Friday. "I think just not being out here with the guys is probably the toughest thing for him. But he'll be fine. For him, coming from this offense in college, that's a big plus for him."
