Kenny Britt removed from PUP list
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans have removed receiver Kenny Britt from the physically unable to perform list, though he will not play Thursday night in the team's preseason finale against New Orleans.
Coach Mike Munchak said after practice Tuesday they were close to activating Britt, and the team announced the receiver had passed his physical and would be activated hours later just as the coach's weekly radio show began. Britt will join the active roster Wednesday, allowing him to take part in any practice or session the Titans might have before Thursday night.

Now the question is when the NFL will announce whether or not Britt will be punished for his eighth incident involving police since being drafted in 2009. Britt was charged with driving under the influence July 20 when he tried to drive onto the Fort Campbell Army post on the Kentucky-Tennessee border, and he met with NFL officials Aug. 6 in New York.
Munchak called the wait for a decision frustrating earlier Tuesday, comparing it to Chris Johnson's holdout a year ago.
"It's aggravating I guess that you don't know all the pieces, and it changes so much with injuries one week to the next also," Munchak said. "I think this will all come together here real soon. As you know, the final roster comes together on Friday and Saturday. That will be a busy weekend just kind of piecing it all back together. By then, we'll have a lot of answers to the questions we've been wondering about."
Britt, the team's top draft pick in 2009 out of Rutgers, has been recovering from his third knee surgery since tearing his right ACL last September. He had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in late June, but had been working harder each day over the past week.
The Titans open the season Sept. 9 at home against the New England Patriots.
They lost receiver Marc Mariani for the season when he broke both bones in his lower left leg last week against Arizona. Munchak has said they would like to see if Britt could play 12-15 snaps against the Patriots.
If Britt is available for the opener, he would join Nate Washington, Damian Williams and rookie Kendall Wright in giving Jake Locker plenty of options at receiver.
