Jaguars waive TE Zach Miller

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars have waived tight end Zach Miller injured and claimed former Philadelphia Eagles tight end Brett Brackett off waivers.

The Jaguars also signed former Alabama quarterback John Parker Wilson to the practice squad. The team also added offensive lineman Daniel Baldridge, receiver Mike Brown, defensive end Ryan Davis, defensive end Antonio Dennard, guard D.J. Hall, linebacker Joshua Jones and tight end Will Ta'ufo'ou to the practice squad. All seven of those guys spent training camp and the preseason with Jacksonville.

Miller, a former college quarterback and a sixth-round draft pick in 2009, is in the final year of his contract. A pass-catching tight end with a history of injuries, Miller will revert to injured reserve if he clears waivers. Miller sustained a calf injury late in the preseason and has been sidelined since.

Beckett, a Penn State graduate in 2010, has spent time with Miami, Jacksonville and Philadelphia. He spent a few days on Jacksonville's practice squad in 2011.

With Miller out and reserve tight end Matt Veldman on injured reserve, the Jaguars were looking for help at the position.
