Andy Reid backtracks on QB question
Graziano: Why Eagles, Why?
Dan Graziano examines the who, what and, most importantly, why Andy Reid and the Eagles might consider benching Michael Vick. Blog
"It was the last question. I was finishing up the press conference," Reid said on his radio show on 94WIP in Philadelphia. "Michael's our quarterback. Period. Michael's our quarterback. Listen, does he need to get better? Do we all need to get better? Yes. We're all going to do that."
Reid was earlier asked Monday when he would consider a change at quarterback after the Eagles' 27-6 loss to the Cardinals in which Vick was sacked five times and fumbled twice, one that was returned 93 yards for an Arizona touchdown on the final play of the first half.
"Right now we're with Michael (Vick), and that's what we're doing. We'll evaluate as we go," Reid said at the time.
Sunday's loss was Philadelphia's first of the season, but Vick has struggled early this season with six interceptions through three games and just three touchdown passes and one touchdown run. He has been sacked nine times.
The Eagles have 12 turnovers this season, their most through three games since 1977, according to ESPN Stats & Information.
When asked earlier Monday whether he has considered giving backup quarterback Nick Foles more snaps in practice, Reid said, "No, not right now."
