Source: Lisfranc injury for Packs RB

Benson Will Miss Next Week's Game
Green Bay Packers running back Cedric Benson has a Lisfranc foot injury that is expected to sideline him eight weeks and could end his season if doctors determine he needs surgery, two sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Monday night.

Benson is scheduled to undergo further evaluation and doctors will be examining the MRI that the running back already has taken, according to sources.
Packers head coach Mike McCarthy already had ruled out Benson from Sunday night's game in Houston against the Texans.
Benson suffered a sprained left foot early in the second quarter of Sunday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts. The eight-year veteran was carted off the field and reportedly was wearing a walking boot after the game.
Benson signed a one-year contract with Green Bay last summer. The 29-year-old Benson has rushed for a team-leading 248 yards in five games this season.
Alex Green replaced Benson against the Colts, rushing for 55 yards on nine carries. The Packers also could turn to Brandon Saine, who has played exclusively on special teams, and James Starks, who has missed the first five games with a toe injury.
"Alex did some good things (against the Colts)," McCarthy said. "There's some things he'll definitely learn from. ... (He is) a young guy that took advantage of an opportunity, and this will be an opportunity for him and James and Brandon to play this week against Houston."
McCarthy also said that tight end Jermichael Finley (shoulder) and defensive tackle B.J. Raji (ankle) will "have a chance" to play in Week 6 against the Texans.
