Report: Robert Griffin III can practice
One source succinctly told The Post, "He will practice tomorrow."
Griffin is recovering from a mild concussion he suffered in the team's Sunday afternoon home loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
Redskins coach Mike Shanahan was optimistic Monday that Griffin would be ready for the team's Week 6 meeting with the Minnesota Vikings.
"I talked to him yesterday and again today, and he told me he feels good," Shanahan told USA Today on Tuesday night. "But you can have these situations where one day a guy feels good, then the next day he's not feeling so hot."
Griffin is not allowed to speak to reporters until he is symptom-free. He was knocked out of Sunday's 24-17 loss in the third quarter on a legal hit to the helmet by linebacker Sean Weatherspoon while scrambling near the sideline.
Shanahan said he hopes his young franchise quarterback will learn from the situation.
"I think with anybody, every game you want to learn from your experiences," Shanahan told USA Today. "The main thing with this is that he needs to know that he helps the team more if he gets up for the next play as our quarterback."
Should Griffin be unable to play, Shanahan would have to choose between rookie Kirk Cousins and veteran Rex Grossman. Grossman has been inactive all year as the third-string quarterback. Cousins was 5-of-9 for 111 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in relief of Griffin on Sunday.
"There have been no setbacks, but he'll be tested every day," Shanahan said to USA Today. "Hopefully, he'll be ready to play on Sunday. But with concussions, you really don't know until you've been out there for a couple of days."
