LANDOVER, Md. -- Rookie running back Le'Veon Bell left the Pittsburgh Steelers' 24-13 loss to the Washington Redskins in the first quarter because of an injured right foot.

Bell carried the ball on all four plays on Pittsburgh's first possession, gaining a total of 9 yards, but he was replaced by Jonathan Dwyer during the team's second drive.

After the game, coach Mike Tomlin said Bell suffered a "mid-foot" injury and will get an MRI on Tuesday.

The second-round draft pick from Michigan State missed some practice time last week and was held out of Pittsburgh's preseason opener on Aug. 11 because of a sore left knee.

ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley and The Associated Press contributed to this report.
