Eric Wood, Bills reach agreement

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- One day before the Buffalo Bills are set to make final roster cuts, they reached a long-term contract agreement with center Eric Wood, the team announced Friday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Wood has started 47 games for the Bills since being drafted in the first round in 2009. He was set to earn $2.3 million in base salary in 2013, the final season of his rookie contract.

"From a philosophical standpoint, we believe to build a consistent team, you have to start from the inside-out, and it doesn't get any more inside than the center position," general manager Doug Whaley said.
