However, Gabbert said he doesn't believe he did any further damage to his thumb, which he fractured Aug. 17 and had his status for the season opener in doubt until he was declared the starter about an hour before kickoff. He will be re-examined on Monday.
"We'll see how it is tomorrow," Gabbert said. "It's another day to day thing, and we will see how it is and move on."
Gabbert said he caught his hand on someone's shoulder, which caused the cut. It happened on the Jaguars' final drive of the game and he went out with less than a minute remaining. He was replaced by Chad Henne.
Gabbert completed 16-of-35 passes for 121 yards with two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. He said his thumb wasn't a problem and wasn't the reason why he threw the interceptions.
"That is not an excuse on why we didn't perform the way we wanted to today," Gabbert said. "We are going to look at things on Monday and try to improve."
