Dashon Goldson fined $30K
Goldson was reprimanded for "unnecessarily striking a defenseless player in the head and neck area" during the second quarter of last Sunday's 18-17 loss to the New York Jets. Goldson was called for a personal foul for his hit on New York tight end Jeff Cumberland.
The league also confirmed Tampa Bay linebacker Lavonte David was fined $7,875 for hitting Jets quarterback Geno Smith out of bounds. Bucs safety Mark Barron wasn't fined for his hit on wide receiver Jeremy Kerley, who suffered a concussion on the play. Barron was penalized for unnecessary roughness, but he didn't strike with his head, according to the league.
Jets safety Dawan Landry was fined $21,000 for unnecessary roughness. He struck a defenseless player in the head and neck area, hitting Bucs wide receiver Mike Williams after he caught a 17-yard touchdown pass.
