GREEN BAY, Wis. -- John Potter will handle the placekicking duties for the Washington Redskins on Sunday, and he'll do so in less than ideal weather conditions against the Green Bay Packers.

Potter, who has never attempted an NFL field goal, will replace starter Kai Forbath, who can't kick because of a groin injury that he first complained about in practice earlier this week.

The Redskins signed Potter on Saturday, but made the decision on Forbath on Sunday morning.

Potter was a kickoff specialist with Buffalo last season, with 13 touchbacks on 26 kickoffs. He has not attempted a field goal and could get his first attempt in rainy Green Bay.
